Tom Aspinall has made it as our GB Sport Athlete of the week. Tom Is a 29 year old Heavyweight Mixed Martial artist fighting in the UFC. Aspinall is one of the most exciting ranked prospects in the whole promotion, proving his hype to be real after his submission victory over seasoned veteran Alexander Volkov. What Makes Tom Aspinall different to any fighter in his division is that he has the speed of a middleweight fighting at heavyweight. Tom Aspinall has shown that his movement, slick boxing and world class Ju -Jitsu may be key for him to become an elite heavweight Mixed Martial artist. With this win over Volkov there is potential for many exciting matchups for Aspinall such as title eliminators against Ciryl Gane, Tai Tuivasa and Stipe Miocic. Tom Aspinall is the full package at Heavyweight as he has shown shades of heavyweight greats ,with similar boxing to that of Stipe Miocic and his Grappling style very much like Frank Mir. I believe that Tom will be the UFC Heavweight champion before the end of 2023.
